Product Description
The Tension Table is a bold and striking accent to any room. The slender profile makes it an excellent console or sofa table. Inspired by the rigging on commercial fishing boats, this table‘s rigid structure is maintained only by the tension placed on line by turnbuckles mounted discreetly under the table top.
The Tension Table can be completely disassembled in under a minute without tools by simply loosening the turnbuckles and removing the line from under the legs. The line is made of an ultra strong material called Spectra, which has a higher tensile strength than steel yet is soft like silk. Spectra is used in extreme applications such as bulletproof vests and artificial tendons. The 3mm line used in this table is rated to hold 2,500 lbs. and is resistant to creep, so the line can stay under tension for decades.

About the Designer
Sam Tresco founded White Gorge Designs to push against the growing trend of disposable furniture. After an apprenticeship with master craftsman Chad Parkinson, he began building his own furniture professionally six years ago. Each piece of White Gorge furniture is designed to last 75 to 100 years, and crafted by hand from sustainable, recyclable, and biodegradable materials in Salt Lake City, Utah.
