Vanadinite is an uncommon, but beautiful, reddish-colored lead chlorovanadate. Vanadinite has hexagonal crystals, a hardness of 3, and a nonmetallic luster described as adamantine or resinous. This high quality vanadinite is from Morocco. The sample shown above is Lower Jurassic dolostone covered with nice vanadinite crystals. The specimen comes from near Mibladen, Morocco.
