Musha Tatsu-maki Katana
From the Musha collection comes this intricately hand forged “Tatsu-maki” (Dragon Roll) Katana. The full tang 1045 high carbon steel blade makes this resilient katana razor sharp right out of the box. The detailed tsuba depicts a traditional Japanese dragon wrapping around the katana with a matching Kashira and Fuchi.
The tsuba depicts a Ryu (Dragon) wrapped around the katana. This traditional Japanese dragon is one of the four divine beasts from Japanese mythology and is known to rule the seas. Ryu is known to summon fierce storms by its howls and transforms into a ravaging tornado called "Tatsu-maki". Tatsu in Japanese Kanji means "Dragon" and Maki means "Roll". This dragon is frequently known to be the emblem of the hero or the emperor.
This katana features a unique integrated Bo-Hi on the handle. Bo-Hi, commonly known as blood grooves, reduces the weight of the katana. This lets the user wield the katana smoothly, reducing stress on the hands, in addition to aiding advanced cutting techniques that require the katana to change direction rapidly.
All Musha swords can fully disassembled and reassembled. Maru Gata style Tsuba, Fuchi, and Kashira all can be swapped out for a different set.
