Product Description

Iron Horse Vineyards is one of Sonoma County's most prestigious, small, independent, estate, family owned wineries located in cool, foggy Green Valley. Iron Horse Sparkling Wines have been served at the White House for five consecutive presidential administrations, beginning with the Reagan-Gorbachev Summit Meeting in Geneva on November 20, 1985, which led to the end of the Cold War. Wine & Spirits Magazine has named Iron Horse Sparkling Winery of the Year nine times. From the beginning, Robert Parker has said, "These impressive Sparkling Wines...possess more texture and flavor than just about any sparkler I have tasted from California."

The LD in 2010 Iron Horse Brut LD Sparkling stands for Late Disgorged— meaning aged longer— which makes it richer, creamier, more refined, and elegant. This vintage is aged seven years en tirage, resulting in tiny, pinpoint, diffused bubbles. This is Iron Horse Vineyards Tête de Cuvée, top of the line.

"Made from equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and late-disgorged after seven years en tirage, this is the winery's top-of-the-line bubbly, and it shows. Gorgeous wafts of peach skin tease the nose before dry, layered components of lemon peel, white flower and apple skin shine on the palate, dipped in a strong mineral streak of crushed stone." 93 Points, Wine Enthusiast

"Sleek and luxurious, with floral, brioche and baked apple aromas that open to rich and complex Asian pear, spiced nut, ginger and cinnamon flavors that linger on the long finish. Drink now through 2021." 94 Points, Wine Spectator

By nose: rising dough, orange marmalade and baked apple.
By mouth: ripe red apple, mandarin orange and hazelnut.

Focused and complex, this is a beautiful sparkling with crispy pommes frites with sea salt and black pepper, truffle popcorn, avocado and baby shrimp salad, bacon and watercress sandwich, wild mushroom tart, spaghetti with cream, Parmesan and crispy onions, roast duckling with citrus.
