1935 A $1 North Africa WW II Emergency Issue PMG 66 EPQ #313

Being offered today is a VERY RARE $1 Dollar 1935 A “North Africa” Emergency Series Silver Certificate. The note carries a very high grade of PMG (Paper Money Guaranty) 66 EPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality). These notes are very hard to find in this high of a grade. This special 1935A $1 Silver Certificate was printed for use during Operation Torch, which was the Allied invasion of North Africa. The U.S. was worried that large amounts of U.S. money would fall into enemy hands. So they created the yellow Treasury seal instead of blue, assuring instant recognition (and devaluation) in the event of defeats by the enemy, or if the enemy captured large quantities of cash.
