Up for sale is a beautiful example of a 1988 P (PHILADELPHIA) “AMERICA IN SPACE” TWO COIN PROOF COMMEMORATIVE COIN SET. The United States Mint in Philadelphia manufactured this "Young Astronaut" National Medal set. It consists of two space medals.

This is a great present for that person who dreams of the heavenly skies above or is an adventurer at heart!!

This two-coin set celebrates America's achievements in space exploration. The set includes a silver and bronze medal, with a proof strike. The coins were minted in Philadelphia in 1988 by the U.S. Mint and feature commemorative designs related to space exploration.

The Silver coin obverse bears an astronaut with U.S. Flag standing on the moon with “LIBERTY” ACROSS THE TOP. The Bronze Space Shuttle coin is shown with Stars and Stripes, with “LIBERTY’ across the top.

Both reverses display an eagle atop Young Astronaut Emblem. Both coins come in velvet display box.

The coins are well struck with all the details being sharp and clean. The coins display original vibrant lusters, flawless surfaces & strikes and excellent, sharp details.
