Unsure just how much of an impact an elephant makes on coffee? Try our mixed option that contains 1 pack of 100% pure Black Ivory Coffee along with our Mahout’s Blend. This is a blend of elephant refined and non elephant refined coffee.

We recommend that you start with the Mahout’s Blend and then try the pure option to see if you can pick out the increase in distinctive flavour. Notes of Puer tea, chocolate, dried fruit along with a noticeable absence of bitterness. We also suggest that you try it black without sugar as well. For best results we recommend brewing as a pour over or French Press.

Our coffee harvesting process allows high school students in North-East Thailand to participate in our after-school program where they help process the coffee cherries to support their continued education as well as contribute to their households. Black Ivory Coffee also gives Mahouts (elephant caregivers) a steady income source that is much higher than the traditional logging, tourism or ceremonial work.

Our elephants are treated with the utmost care. They have full-time care-givers and treats like daily baths, play-time and of course those luscious coffee cherries. Elephants are large and herbivores so the fermentation process is slower and more intense than omnivores giving more time for the flavors of the sweet cherry skins and pulp to mix with the coffee bean. This gives the coffee its smooth, chocolatey and sweeter taste without the bitter burnt aftertaste. We are a socially conscious business that considers the welfare of the elephants, the Mahouts and conservation of their habitat as critical in the making of our unique coffee.

Black Ivory Coffee Whole Roasted Beans- Solo: Each envelope contains 40 grams / 1.41 ounces of whole roasted Thai Arabica bean that has been naturally refined by an elephant. Each envelope can serve approximately 2 mugs of coffee.
Mahout's Blend- Solo: Each package contains 40 grams / 1.41 ounces of whole roasted bean. This will serve 2 coffee mugs.
