Product Description

Antique Colt Model 1849 Percussion Pocket Revolver, manufactured in 1863, during the heat of the Civil War. In nice condition for its age, with all serial numbers correctly matching, and with its original wood grips. Signs of wear and use overall, including some pitting and various scuffs and dents, typical for a pistol of this age. The barrel has the one-line Samuel Colt New York address “ADDRESS CCL SAM’L COLT NEW YORK U.S. AMERICA”. The cylinder is worn but still shows “COLTS PATENT” and serial number. It cycles properly, however this is an antique and not warranted safe to shoot and it should not be attempted without the aid of an expert. An excellent addition to any collection! Colt Serial No. 239207. 4-inch octagonal barrel, .31 Caliber. Entire pistol length 9 inches. ** The Colt model 1849 is sometimes referred-to as “the Gun that Won the West” as it was the preferred sidearm of cowboys, outlaws and lawmen alike during the Gold Rush and Westward Expansion.
