The Aberlour Distillery, est 1879, lies in the village of aberlour in the heart of Speyside, the country’s premier whisky-making region which is renowned for producing whiskies of subtle depth and elegance. Aberlour is an historical place and its story stretches back over a thousand years. In the ancient past, a druid community lived in the valley. The druids valued oak trees and water and believed you could hear the water spirits talking to each other. Aberlour is a Gaelic word meaning ‘mouth of the chattering burn’ (stream). Water and an oak tree still feature today on the Aberlour label.
Meaning ‘the original’ in Gaelic, A’bunadh is made in homage to Aberlour’s founder, James Fleming. A’bunadh is a whisky hand-made from start to finish with each batch being created to ensure a rich and complex flavour of moist raisin, and homemade fruit cake. It is bottled at cask strength resulting in a robust and deeply intense, sherried whisky. From dark chocolate and dried fruit to warm spices, each sip unfolds a tapestry of robust tastes. Bottled at its natural strength, Aberlour Abunadh is a potent journey into the heart of Speyside, where tradition and craftsmanship converge in a sublime and unapologetically powerful single malt experience.
